What is GHB?
GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is an illegal drug that is very common in the dance and party scene. It is known as a ‘date rape’ drug because it is difficult to detect when put in a drink at a party.
GHB was originally developed to be used as an anesthetic. It is a central nervous system depressant. This means that it slows down brain activity and causes feelings of relaxation and drowsiness.
GHB is usually available as a liquid. It can taste bitter or salty and is odorless or has a slight odor. It can also be available as a powder or crystal.
GHB is usually colorless, but it can make a clear drink cloudy. Sometimes it can be colored bright blue.
It could be:
swallowed
